There are three areas that the surgeon may make an incision depending on your physique - either under your breast, around the nipple or in the armpit. Breast enlargement surgery takes place under general anaesthetic and usually takes no more than 2 hours.

In some cases you can return home the same day but we usually recommend an overnight stay at the hospital.

Risks of breast enlargement surgery

In a small number of women (1 in 20) scarring can last up to two years but because the incisions are generally made out of sight then this is not usually an issue. Your surgeon will discuss all of this with you at consultation.

A formal study carried out in the USA asked patients who had breast enlargement on their experience. 96% of women with breast implants stated they would make the same choice again. 93% were very satisfied and 71% rated their implants as soft and natural.
