The face lift procedure

Lose skin and tissue is very carefully removed or tightened from the neck, chin and cheek under a general anesthetic. Muscles may be tightened and moved slightly to allow for the movement of the skin.

The operation usually takes up to three hours with an overnight stay in hospital.

Recovery from a face lift

There may be some swelling and bruising after the operation. After seven to fourteen days the stitches will be removed.

Risks of a face lift

On rare occasions a collection of blood or body fluid can build up underneath the skin. If this does occrur it may necessary to return to the operating theatre to fix the problem.
